What is the difference between Architectural and Automotive window tint?

The main difference is in the glue. Car window tinting costs about half the price to produce because the glue is cheaper (it’s sticky like sticky tape). This is the same type of glue you see bubbled up on the rear windows of cars so why would you want that on your home or office. Tint Direct only install dry adhesive window tint. This has more stable glue and is used by all the large solar film manufacturers in their Architectural film.

WARNING: Just because its WERS rated doesn’t mean its dry adhesive, make sure you check! If the glue is sticky like sticky tape then it’s the cheaper less stable glue. WERS is an energy rating not a quality rating.
